Public Hearing Procedures
The purpose of a public hearing is to give ample opportunity to be heard by all who have a legitimate interest and to bring to the Planning Commission all possible germane facts, information and opinions which may be of help and assistance to the Planning Commission in a decision.
The applicant shall be present in person at the meeting when the application is under consideration. At the option of the applicant, a representative may make the actual presentation of technical data and information.
- The meeting will be called to order by the Chairman and after consideration of the minutes and announcements he will call the agenda cases in consecutive order.
- The planning staff will review the circumstances of the applications and the proposed development.
- The proponent(s) applicant(s) will make their presentation(s) followed by questions, if any, by the Commission members.
- The opponent(s) will then be heard.
- The applicant will then be given the opportunity to summarize and close his case to answer any questions by the Commission members.
- After deliberation, the Commission will make a decision known by a motion to either recommend approval or denial, or a lay over for additional information.
